Pound US Dollar exchange rate slumps despite UK business activity rising to 9-month high

The pound has slumped against the US dollar this morning, taking the pairing to $1.213. Sterling broadly declined on Monday despite data revealing UK business activity growth rose to a nine-month high. In July there was a solid rebound in new work which led to higher levels of business activity. -»
