And yet, despite DOGE being in the red today (April 22), holders are still seeing massive gains on their investment.
The token is still nearly 6,000 percent up on last year, which is fairly incredible considering Dogecoin was created in 2013 as a joke.
Dogecoin's mainstream appeal, meanwhile, has not waned with US rapper Snoop Dogg putting his own flair on Dogeday celebrations this Tuesday.
